I grew up listening to RnB & Soul Music, on Radio West in Bristol and Radio Luxembourg.
I started DJ-ing in 1985, this was the famous era of Bristol’s UD4, Wild-Bunch, City Rockers. Soul Force & Juice Crew it was the ‘Break Dance’ era.
A good and I friend used to break dance together and after the break dance era, he bought two decks (turntables), and decided to play music. At his house I watched and learned about the Art of mixing the music using the decks & good ole vinyl. This and watching my Hero from ‘Wild Bunch’ we tried to model are ourselves on one of Bristol’s top DJ at that time ‘DJ Marlow’.
With 25 years in the business, I have so many tunes from many genres to choose from. Well known hits and non commercial sounds from the yester year right up to present day. Those music lovers will remember.
1986 I started my DJ career in Bristol’s then popular ‘Mozart’s Wine Bar’ this was the era of the 80s 2-step and mid tempo RnB, Soul & Hip Hop. This era saw a whole new generation of DJ’s. I was offered a drive time 5-7 Monday to Friday slot on a local community radio. I played on a few stations over the year’s ‘West One’, ‘Powerjam’, ‘Dance Fm’ & ‘Ragga Fm’. In 1990 after actively taking part in a number of Campaigns for a Bristol Community Radio License Bristol’s first legal ‘Urban Station’ was born ‘FTP’ FM (FOR THE PEOPLE), I was one of the main DJs.
In 2000 I joined Passion Radio Bristol, I was a long serving DJ on Passion celebrating over ten years. After a brief break, I’m now and back ready to throw down & entertain Passion Radio Bristol’s listeners once again.
Over the years I have had the privilege to work with some top talented DJ’s and performing artists, including ‘Soul TO Soul’ Jazzy B, Rick Clark, Tongue n Cheek, Shabaz, Loose Ends, Sybil and Spider.
The past couple of years I have dedicated my time to upgrading my software to approach the digital age by working hard to take my musical love to another level.
I AM ONCE AGAIN READY TO ENTERTAIN THE NEW AND SENIOR GENERATION FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER DECADE.DJ T
